According to a new study, sitting for long hours is very unhealthy for you.

This increases your risk of death by 19% from 14 diseases: cancer; heart disease; stroke; diabetes; kidney disease; suicide; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); lung disease; liver disease; peptic ulcer and other digestive disease; Parkinson’s disease; Alzheimer’s disease; nervous disorders; and musculoskeletal disorders.

So GET MOVING.

Even if you exercise regularly but sit for long hours, your risk of disease is higher.

So here are two simple tips:

  1. After sitting for 1 hour, stand up and walk around for at least 2 minutes. Then go back to sit and work.
  2. Exercise every day regularly – simple walking for 30 minutes is helpful.
