Walk Training
Many patients with neuromuscular disorders have difficulty in walking.
This is due to a combination of loss of muscle strength, muscle spasticity or balance and coordination problems.
Due to neuromuscular diseases, some patients have been unable to walk or even stand for months and years. This leads to loss of muscle mass through disuse atrophy as well as a loss of bone strength (osteoporosis). This further exacerbates the inability to walk.
Our staff also works with patients to correct the posture, gait and walking pattern. This leads to amazing results for patients with walking problem. This training is helpful for patients with conditions such as
- Spinal cord injury
- Spinocerebellar ataxia
- Parkinson’s disease
- Traumatic brain injury
- Stroke
- Multiple sclerosis
- Challenges in walking and balance in elderly people
- Walking after long period of immobility
